For all those who love natural remedies, spices or just the smell of the mediterranean macchia, don’t miss the “Days of herbs on Dugi otok” (24th – 31st May) where you’ll be able to get to know the landscapes, cuisine and heritage of this unique island.
If tasting is you thing, than don’t miss the “Days of traditional food, drinks, folklore and souvenirs” held at Biograd na Moru from May 30th to June 1st.
July events
Carnival by the sea? In July? Why not! Moor on Pag island between July 25th and 26th and participate in its unique Summer carnival, the oldest carnival on the Adriatic!
Vodice are well known for their night life, but those who prefer something different, there is the Jazz&Blues festival held on July 29th-30th.
August events
For all art lovers, Pag is the place to be in August. Two weeks of classical music, performed by some of the world’s most famous musicians, and art exhibitions are what awaits you during “Pag Art Festival” (1st – 14th August).
Is you find yourself near Dugi otok between August 7th and 10th, don’t miss “Saljske Užance”, a series of events that promote local traditions, fish cuisine and the famous local donkeys! Donkey race included!
A taste of the traditional way of life of Zadar and the surrounding island is on display on August 10th, during the “Night of the full moon”, held traditional at Zadar’s old town. While movie lovers should visit Zadar between August 23rd and 29th, when the whole town becomes and open-air cinema for the “Forum film festival”.
Back to the old traditions is the motto of another festival, “Primoštenske užance”, held at Primošten the 1st two weeks of August, where the old ways are displayed and enjoy by the many visitor.
On August 22ns-23rd Šibenik becomes the musical capital of Dalmatia, hosting the Evenings of Dalmatian Chanson, when the Dalmatian chansons, a unique musical phenomenon are performed in the settings of one of its most beautiful towns.
Many other towns and villages organize smaller events and festivals, like the numerous fishermen nights, exhibitions and performances, so be sure to check at the local tourism office for the events programme.
